Simply lower the pole when the sun gets low and you will be sunshaded. The type to be assembled is troublesome because it is necessary to remove the pole from the tarp, but this is convenient because it can expand and contract.

Very pleased with these poles. They're easy to store, being telescopic, and nice and sturdy for holding up my tarp. For my use they just stay at home, so no need to back-pack them, in which case they might be considered a bit cumbersome because of their sturdiness.

Versatile and easy to use telescopic poles. Very useful for tarps and canopies, and the height can be adjusted quickly and easily. Just need to make sure the poles are twisted tightly before being placed under load.

Nice height adjustable poles, used with the robens 3x3 tarp. Work well and have lots of adjustment however they are quite heavy and chunky.

Strong with useful height range. A more compact version when reduced down for packing would be even better.

The only negative thing with these are that they are a bit to long to pack in the backpack when hiking in the woods or mountains.
