Larger families and campers seeking extra space from an easy-to-pitch tent will love the new inflatable Air Comfort Collection from award-winning Scandinavian family camping specialists, Outwell®. And topping the four tent range is a new super-size ten-berth tunnel – the Concorde 10AC (pictured above).
The Concorde 10AC is the answer to campers’ requests for a simple-to-understand large inflatable tent designed to take the strain out of pitching such huge accommodation. Key to the simple and speedy pitching is the new Outwell Power Air Tube System (pictured left) that has been developed to create a tent frame that is physically easier to manage. Individual tubes are inflated and deflated using valves that have external access. These tubes are pre-angled to provide extra headroom and greater stability that is further enhanced by the manual placement of separate air tubes along the tent ridge between the main tubes.
The colour-coded Outwell Easy Pegging System further helps speed up pitching by ensuring the correct peg is quickly located. Correctly pitched, the tent’s eye-catching sleek aerodynamic shape sheds gales and it has been tested against the Beaufort Scale to storm Force 10.
Like other Air Comfort tents, the Concorde 10AC outer is made from Outtex® 5000 – a quality embossed polyester taffeta that is unique to Outwell. It provides a 5,000mm hydrostatic head for weather-beating performance, complementing the Outwell Sealed Ground System (pictured right) that sees the groundsheet sealed to the inner to keep out water, draughts and insects. The tent also features a Rain Safe door that provides protection from water entry during stormy conditions.
All doors are backed by full mesh doors that work with the new Outwell Aeroffective Ventilation System to aid bug-free air flow around the tent to minimise condensation. Large tinted windows reduce the suns glare to keep internal temperatures down in hot weather and allow great views out while maintaining privacy helped by the toggle up curtains.
The Concorde 10AC sleeps up to ten adults in vis-à-vis accommodation that sees two Outwell Universal Inners face each other across the central living area. Each Universal Inner is split into two compartments. If not used to capacity the versatile vis-à-vis style enhances privacy, allowing parents and children to each enjoy their own Universal Inner with the unused section either being turned into a dressing area or converted to living space.
The Universal Inner features a special darkened Night Sky Ceiling (pictured left) that reduces light ingress to aid sleeping. Night time comfort is further improved for 2016 by the introduction of the Master Bedroom that sees the length of one of the Universal Inners extended to improve space and headroom – especially to the rear of the inner where the acute sloping back provides greater useable floorspace.
