Top 5 Camping Heaters

One thing that always gets discussed when you mention your going camping especially out of peak season... "oh won't you get cold"? This is a worry for a lot of campers, even more so if you are camping with children. We have decided to out together a list of our top 5 camping heaters to help you decide which one is best for you and your camping needs.

We sell a lot of camping heaters online and in store and the main attributes customers look for are the size of the unit, the power the unit generate and the price, and lets face it price is key more often than not.

There are other accessories you can buy to help you stay warm whilst camping which are also equally as important, the main one being a decent sleeping bag. There really is no point just buying a cheap and cheerful sleeping bag, we've all done it and trust me your be freezing. I would always suggest spending that little bit more on a sleeping bag because even in the Summer the evenings/nights do get cold.

So now you have your cosy sleeping bag lets move on to what really will help you stay warm whilst camping - A HEATER!

No.1 - Go System Dynasty Heater
Price £29.99*

The Dynasty Heater comes in on top for us, one reason being it currently comes with a pack of 4 gas refills for free. This is portable gas heater which really does pump out the heat. Each cartridge last around 10 hours so it really keeps you and your family toasty all day or night. This heater runs on 2000 watts. The Dynasty Heater does have a safetly guard on the front so perfect for families and also its small and compact so won't take up too much space in your tent. The Dynasty Heater is very easy to use and if you've ever used a gas heater before this works in exactly the same way. Also I found a positive of not having to plug this in to a power source meant there were no cables randomly laying about as trip hazzards, again perfect if you are travelling with children.

No.2 - Kampa Cuboid Fan Heater
Price £29.99*

The Kampa Cuboid Fan Heater is in at no.2. Well apart from just looking pretty funky it does everything you need it to do and for a reasonabe price. The heater has 3 settings, cool, 750W and 1500W. Its not as powerful as the Dynasty but gives you the option of 3 differetn levels of heat including a cool air for the hot summer days/nights. The cupoid heater is really small in size so perfect for not cluttering up your tent. The housing also stays really cool when the heater is switched on so it alleviates the chance of any one burning themselves so perfect for young families.

No.3 - Kampa Oil Filled Radiator
Price £32.99

The Kampa Oil Filled Radiator is a different type of heater entirely. It doesnt give you that instant heat that the fan heater to but it feel like a 'cleaner' type of heat. It tends to head the tent but you dont get that dry air over heated feel (if that makes any sense at all). It is slightly more expensive than some of the fan heater but I do like the type of heat it provides. This is a 7 fin radiator and has an output of 700w, so the same as the setting 2 on the Kampa Cuboid. This radiator is very small so again doesnt take up a lot of room and it may just be me but I think it feels really homely having a radiator in your tent, makes it more home from home :)

No.4 - Kampa Glow 2 Double Parabolic Heater
Price £34.99

This Kampa Glow 2 give you instant heat. It is so powerful at an output of 2000 watts so you will not be disappointed with the heat at all. It does ahve a burner guard so it is still safe around children and dogs. Its not as aesthetically pleasing as the other heater available but you may like the more industrial look. It had to be in the top 5 just for its power and you definitly wont be feeling the cold with this heater. You do have to buy the gas canisters separately which does slightly bump the price up. But for heat this one is very impressive.

No.5 - Kampa Tall Oscillating Heater
Price £49.99

Last but not least the Kampa Tall Oscilliating Heater, I had to choose this one because I think its the smartest looking campingnheater there is out there. The classy look of it does come through in the price but you also get two heat settings 1200w and 2000w so not only does it look the business it does put out a good amount of adjustable heat. This heater also offer you a 90 degree oscillating feature or for normal people like myself, a swivel feature, which does circulate the heat nicely. So yes this heater is more expensive but does offer some features our other heaters don't and also is very modern looking.
