We already owned the Minnesota 4. I ordered the front extension from Camping World at 4.0pm on Wednesday, it arrived 10am Friday morning. And it seems this company were the only ones in the country to actually have it in stock. Both tent and extension are excellent products, well made, sturdy and waterproof, as well as being esy to erect though you do need two people.

As well made and sturdy as the Minnesota 4 tent. Very easy to attach to the main tent and offers some shade, extra space, and complete protection from rain. Ideal cooking or sitting area.
I shall make a moveable, tent - fabric, cover, fixed with velcro, or clips, to the steel poles, to provide extra shade on any of the 'windows' as required.

I would advise anyone to purchase the extention for the Minnesota. The tent is spacious but the extension helps with that extra room for cooking eating etc.

Well worth the money I would recommend it everytime and doesn't take much room in the car, also a doddle to erect.

Have spent HOURS looking for a Minnesota 4 front extension, but they seem to be impossible to find.....can anybody shed any light on where I might be able to get one....please!!!

CAMPING WORLD: Unfortunately the Minnesota 4 Front Extension is now gone for good and the Minnesota has been discontinued next year so they will not be available again in their current form. You can look at the Minnesota canopy to fit correctly, or something else in the range as an alternative but most currently available awnings will not fit well. Outwell are unable to supply any more.

Wow - I can’t believe I have finally found a company to supply this extension; i have been looking for 2 years. a little expensive but i am just happy that we have now found one.

I have missed out for 2 years now on getting my hands on one of these despite my best efforts they just seem to be gold dust! What were Outwell thinking keeping production numbers so low and then discontinuing the extension??? Thank you so much Camping World for getting these in again - I don't think you'll have amny problem selling out of what you've got as I know loads of people still desperate for one of these... wish you could have got them in a bit cheaper but I understand about the costs involved and to be fair would have paid twice over just to have one. Thank you again thank you thank you!!!!

What a buy. Considering the wet weather we just had on our last holiday in the Lake District. Provided that extra sheltered space giving a more outdoor feel.
Great for cooking, sitting & relaxing in. Prevents water coming into doorway when its wet conditions.Easy to erect & easy to dismantle.I would recommend this product to any camper.

Although the design of tent resists rain water very well, the sloping entrance means that even light drizzle comes straight in and onto the floor. An extension to cover the door is essential in the lightest of precipitation.

Thisis pretty much an essential addition to the Minnesota 4 tent if you need somewhere to cook out of the rain.
It's well made, fits the tent perfectly and is very easy to erect.

Just back from a week camping and used the extension for the first time. Although somewhat pricey it is an excellent addition to the tent and really made a huge difference to the whole camping experience particularly when it rained. I agree with the previous reviewer who suggested something to close off the front on particularly bad weather days - I plan on looking at adapting something for future use. Otherwise a really good buy and very pleased with my purchase. I would highly recommend the extension.

We bought the extension to use with our Outwell Montana 4. Having used the exension on a couple of weekends, we are pleased with the purchase. On the first occasion the wind was blowing strongly but the extension coped without a problem.

There was a small problem with the straps used to pull the extension down each side at the front of the tent. These seemed to be inch or so short of the required length to clip to the ring and pin system at the bottom of the front tent pole. Possiily the Montana is slightly taller than the Minnesota/Wyoming. Solved initially by use of a bit extra muscle and thereafter extended the length of the straps with the use of a couple of carabiners.

This item is perfect and makes the tent perfect

Expensive but well worth it! Dont know how we coped without it!

Took a while to get, but delighted its here now. Great addition to tent. Only put it up at home, will use very soon. Sure its going to be superb.Make such a difference to camping hols.

..especially if you have the Wyoming (doesn't have the side porch). no more opening the front flap in the wet and having water pour in to the front og the tent. Provides good shelter for cooking etc, and makes the tent feel bigger wirth the front always able to be open. Easy to erect and attaches securely to the main tent with no leaks at the join. yes it's pricey, but extensions with damage were going on ebay for £130 so glad to buy new

We bought a Minnesota 4 in 2009 and loved the tent but when we decided to get the extension to fit, we were dissapointed to find out that Outwell were no longer making the extension for this tent so we were pleased when Camping World contacted us to say they would be getting some extensions from Outwell, the order was placed and we waited for it to arrive. We have just come back from Cornwall and we were very pleased with the extension, it makes a great sitting or cooking area, we bought a ground sheet to fit which helped keep the dirt out the tent. The extension fits very well onto the tent, we didn't get any rain comming through the place where it connects to the tent.
It was well worth the wait.

18 July 2011 - We have recently bought a Front Extension for our Minnesota 4 and having just tried it out for the first time last weekend we can honestly say it is an excellent buy , we are so pleased with it. The fit is first class, no problems, we had (unfortunately) every type of weather imaginable from a beautiful summer day to high winds (gusting from every direction) to hours of rain and at times extreemly heavy, it was actually a very good test for the extention, not one leak ! The only draw back is that the front has no protection from the more heavy driving rain. Our soloution was to buy a 'clear glass' tarpaulin which we fitted across by using extra pole clips. By fitting the tarp bottom first and securing with the clips as you go along you can then quite eaisly trim to the shape, where the guy rope attachments are along the top we done 3 cuts in the tarp this will enable a perfect fit where the taps are. Under each cut we added a clear sticky repair patch which stops the tarp from splitting. We used a ground sheet for the floor and it made a surperb living area for those not so nice days.. Also handy if you are leaving any kit in the extention should you go out for the day, making it that more secure. Verdict - should have had one a couple of years ago........
