With the sun breaking through the clouds this weekend and showing us what its made of, it's time to get planning some beach-time this summer. The UK's glorious coastline is beckoning and the camping choices for UK beach holidays are glowing with health.

So, at Campsite Chatter we've done a bit of research for you. These 5 celebrated campsites are all a pebble's toss from a beautiful sandy shore as well as providing the facilities you will need to wash off salt and sand at the end of blissfully long, sunny days beside the seaside. Take your pick of these campsites on the beach!

Clachtoll Beach Campsite, Scottish Highlands

Find that perfect Scottish Beach

Clachtoll beach Campsite is a quiet, family run site for tents and tourers, set on the stunning North West Coast of Scotland. This site might be remote but it isn't lacking in facilities, with electric hook up, modern toilet block and laundry.

Clachtoll beach is picture perfect, be that by day or by moonlight, its clean, soft sand lining the perfect crescent of the bay. The Assynt area, where the campsite is based, is truly beautiful with diverse wildlife and miles of exciting sea-scapes to explore. There aren't many campsites in the UK where you can spot passing pods of dolphins from your pitch!

Gilbraltar Farm Camp Site is set at the heart of the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Gilbraltar Farm is a working farm and the campsite is laid over both open grassland and ancient woodland: plenty of space to spread out and relax.

The views from the campsite over Morecambe Bay are spectacular and the vast sands of Silverdale are breath-taking.

With electric hook ups available and a new shower and toilet block, you'll be well catered for.

You can even treat yourself to an ice-cream (or three)made on site.

Gilbraltar Farm Camp Site, Cumbria

Camping by the Beach in Norfolk

If you are looking for a less remote beach-side camping experience, with more extensive facilities and access to seaside bustle but you don't want to compromise on the quality of the beach, then Long Beach Caravan Park is a great option.

Long Beach Caravan Park, Norfolk This campsite and holiday park is set on a private estate which includes part of the Winterton Great Valley, a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Importantly, this estate also comprises over forty acres of rolling sand dunes and a fine sandy beach, with excellent walking towards Winterton-on-Sea through the nature reserve that runs for miles up the coast.

And if you want to mix up your private beach moments with some traditional bucket-and-spade fun, then you're only 5 miles from Great Yarmouth and just on the edge of Hemsby, both offering nostalgic sea-side endeavours and attractions!

Cornwall Beach-Side Camping

With great reviews, Trevornick Holiday Park near Newquay in Cornwall is a small, family run site a short walk through the dunes from National Trust owned Holywell Bay.

Holywell bay is a dog-friendly, beautiful beach offering all the sand and wave-related fun of Newquay some 5 miles away, without the need to compromise on peace and quiet!

With so many beaches to choose from in Devon, it's been hard to single out one site but Ocean Pitch nestled on the cliffs at Croyde Bay scores so well in the vital statistics of beach-side fun, we thought we must give it a mention!
