Q&A
The Ultimate Tent Peg. A new innovation in pegging, Delta Ground Anchors change the point of force so that any force on the attached guy rope simply buries the peg deeper into the ground. Designed exclusively for guy ropes, Delta Ground Anchors consistently live up to their name and provide a very secure anchor for your tent, whilst sitting flush with the ground.
Constructed from super tough nylon composite, the pegs are durable, hard wearing and will not rust or corrode. Engineered to withstand significant forces, these pegs are the best peg for the job that money can buy - tested by the University of Exeter the nylon peg can withstand forces of up to 72Kg, which is more than 1700 times its own weight. Highly recommended by Camping World and winners of numerous industry awards for design innovation.
DELTA ground anchors are a totally innovative and effective method of pegging down your tent or awning. The patented and registered DELTA design completely overcomes the problems associated with conventional tent pegs and methods of securing guy ropes. DELTA Ground Anchors are dependable and different to any other tent peg or anchoring system on the market today.
WHY DELTA WAS PRODUCED
Traditional tent pegs consisted of wooden stakes. Today, in the name of convenience and lightness, metal pins, thin angled steel sections and plastic are all used in tent peg design. Wooden tent pegs tend to split readily. The alternatives tend to be so insubstantial that they barely penetrate the soil without bending or breaking. All conventional tent pegs fail to hold under the load of constant guy tension plus wind force for three main reasons:
- With the point of attachment at the top of the tent peg the guy line produces maximum leverage; this causes the tent peg to move in the direction of tension.
- 'Normal' tent pegs have a small surface area to resist guy tension.
- Modern tent pegs have little, or no, rigidity making their practical use very limited and giving a short life.
- Anyone erecting a tent or awning will have experienced problems with ineffective, cheap or disposable tent pegs, generally having to replace pegs every so often
THE DELTA DIFFERENCE
The most important and unique feature is the position of the guy attachment point which ensures that the load is evenly distributed to the ground and eliminates any leverage - DELTA tent pegs hold until you are ready to pack up and go home
The base member presents a large surface area to resist the forces acting upon it - DELTA tent pegs hold fast where others cannot.
Standard Delta Ground Anchors are produced in supertough nylon composite. The tent peg design is rigid and corrosion resistant.
DELTA tent pegs have a long service life, providing genuine value for money.
A rigid anchor makes insertion and recovery easy and resists wind and ground forces - DELTA Ground Anchors make conventional tent peg designs redundant.
Our Ground Anchors lie totally flush with the soil - DELTA provides maximum safety in the field.
DELTA Ground Anchors' holding ability, strength, ease of use and corrosion resistance simply makes them the ideal choice for all campers and caravanners.
In my humble opinion I think the Delta peg cannot be beaten for securing the guys lines on your tent. It's simple design suddenly makes sense. They seem to be made of something really strong and I can't forsee accidentally breaking one so points for construction. Having read the comments on ukampsite and other forums about these Delta ground anchors I think other people are cottoning on too - no more tents falling down from light winds! Hurrah! Practically idiot proof pegs - I am very impressed! Quickly delivered and exactly as pictured. Can't fault Camping World or the peg and looking forward to using them out in the field... ba dum, cha!!
These are by far the pest peg you can buy! Only really required on your guy lines they are simply excellent even under extreme wind they do not move! you spend £££'s on your tent! so dont make cut backs on your pegs! especially when these are so cheap! Honestly get caught out in high winds like we have and you'll be glad you had them!
Light and easy to store and very good value for the money, everybody should have these no matter the size of the tent they are using. Very easy to use, hard wearing and don't bend when putting them into the ground, once in the ground they do not move and because of the colour and the fact that they lay on the surface very easy to extract.
