Bought this to protect the tent from wet soil etc. Even thought there was some long showers we didn't need to wash under our tent the footprint really helped. The sun was out the morning we were coming home the top of the tent was dry and as we had the extra protection, the bottom had a little condensation which was easily wiped down. The tent is dry and packed away so no extra work for us when we got home. Well worth the money!
Having used this for the first time it really lived up to expectations. With a family of five it gave us plenty of room. The only consideration is the amount of time it takes to put up and down. It's not hard to do, just a lengthy process. In fairness you can't expect to have a tent this big not take some time to put together, but it is something to think about.
The only reason this had four stars and not five is that the elastic on one of the pole sections was snapped when we tried to use the tent for the first time. Thankfully not a killer blow, but none the less it isn't something we expected of a new tent.
Overall a great purchase and we look forward to using it many times again in the future.
